WHO: Eastland Infrastructure Limited

WHAT: Electrical Utilities, Port and Airport Infrastructure Management

STAFF: 35

PRODUCTION: Eastland Infrastructure Limited is a small, dynamic and flexible company which provides professional management and operational services to:
Eastland Network Limited - who own and operate the lines, which the electricity retailers use to deliver electricity to you in your home or business. We distribute approximately 302 GWh of electricity to approximately 26,000 consumers, of which approximately 57% are in Gisborne City and Wairoa Township. The remaining connections are scattered widely, across two isolated distribution networks covering 11,952km2, resulting in an overall line density of less than seven connections per kilometre of line.
Eastland Port Limited - who own and operate the port situated at Gisborne on the North Eastern corner of Poverty Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island. Huge quantities of produce and bulk raw materials pass through the port every day linking the region with other parts of New Zealand and the rest of the world. Each year about 500,000 tonnes heads out by sea - that includes mainly timber but also squash, kiwifruit, fertilizer and cement. The port employs many local people and as such plays a crucial role in the local community.
Gisborne Airport - Eastland Infrastructure are responsible for the management, operation and development of Gisborne Airport under a long term lease with Gisborne District Council. The Airport provides a key gateway into Gisborne and the East Coast Region. It also provides a key focal point and launching pad for many local business and operations such as agricultural flying, charter services, pilot training, aircraft engineering and also aviation clubs and societies.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE ONE OF THE TEAM: Eastland Infrastructure Limited's Chief Executive, Matt Todd, says he looks for people who are passionate, motivated and interested in something more than nine to five. Eastland Infrastructure Limited is currently in a growth phase and the success of our business is dependent on the qualities and skills of its people. Thus, we are always on the look out for special individuals who possess those qualities and skills that enable them to thrive in our unique business setting and to help us achieve our ambitious goals. We seek individuals with positive attitudes, who are energetic and self-confident. We require team players who thrive on challenges and seek responsibility. In addition, we look for academic performance, relevant professional experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and computer literacy.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO: "We provide a satisfying and rewarding environment for our employees which provides challenges to motivated individuals," says Todd. "We also provide an environment where they are able to have fun. We believe this is vital to run an efficient and results focused company." Todd says he is confident Eastland Infrastructure is changing the paradigm. "A lot of people think that things like electricity and ports are boring and staid. Well, hopefully we are creating an environment where people want to come to work."
